Getting started with Digital Secure Key
What is a Digital Secure Key?
The Digital Secure key replaces the Physical security device and is part of HSBC Armenia Mobile Bank application. If you use Online banking, our Digital Secure Key gives you added protection against the threat of fraud. With Digital Secure key you can generate a temporary code from your device, so you can access your full range of Online banking services.
Will HSBC Armenia mobile be accessible for me if I am not using Digital Secure Key?
No. Security Device and HSBC Armenia mobile application are mutually exclusive. You can use HSBC Armenia mobile application only if you have active Digital Secure Key.
Mobile application will no longer be available, if:
- after updating the application, you did not activate/switch to Digital Secure Key
- after activation of Digital Secure Key, you prefer to switch back to Physical Secure Key
Do I need Physical Security device to switch to Digital Security device?
You don't need a physical security device to switch to a digital security device.
How do I activate the Digital Secure Key?

Can I use my Physical Security Device after activating my Digital Secure Key?
No, once you activate your Digital Secure Key, your Security Device will immediately stop working.
You can dispose of your Security Device responsibly or return it to any HSBC Armenia branch.
Do I need a Security Device to switch to a Digital Secure Key?
You don’t need your Security Device to switch to Digital Secure Key.
If you’ve used the HSBC Armenia mobile app before, launch the app and log on using your 6-digit PIN or biometrics. You’ll be prompted to switch to Digital Secure Key. Select ‘Confirm and continue’ to complete the Digital Secure Key activation process.
I have a new mobile device; how do I switch my Digital Secure Key to the new device?

Can I use my Digital Security device on more than one mobile devices?
You can use your Digital security device on up to three mobile devices by following the steps of activation Digital Security key for new mobile device.
How can I switch to Physical Secure device after Digital Secure key activation?
After activation of Digital Secure key to switch back to Physical Secure device, you can visit any of our branches or call at +37460655000 if you are registered Telephone Banking.
Common issues
What do I do if I can’t remember my username?
If you can’t remember your username, please visit branch for further assistance.
What do I do if I’ve forgotten my Digital Secure Key 6-digit PIN?
On the HSBC Armenia app log on screen select the Forgotten your PIN option and follow the on-screen instructions.
What should I do, if I have entered the correct code from my Digital Secure Key but I am seeing an invalid code message in Online Banking?
This can occur if the time setting on your device has been manually adjusted. The system will calculate the Security Code based on the network automatic time zone. Please ensure your time zone settings are on auto.
What should I do if my mobile device is lost or stolen?
If your mobile device is lost or stolen, for your security, you should remove it from your profile as soon as possible.
If you have the HSBC Armenia app on another device:
- log on to the app
- go to ‘Profile’ and select ‘Manage Devices’
- find the lost device in the list and select ‘Delete’
If you don’t have the app on any other devices, please call us at +37460655000 or visit branch and we will remove your device from your profile.

In case of discrepancies between Armenian and English versions, the Armenian version shall prevail.
